imagine that you are a project manager working for a construction firm whose specialty is commercial building construction. You are assigned to the firm’s latest project, the design and construction of a new grocery store near your office. As construction manager, explain at least one method you plan to employ to influence each phase of this project, from project initiation to project turnover.

Every project has a beginning, middle period (where activites move the project towards completion) & an ending.

A construction project typically consists of four stages:

1) initiation 2)planning

3) implementation & monitoring 4)closure

Initiation phase: In this phase the project manager will find a team with skills, knowledge and experience to manage a complex project. The project start up team began devoliping procedures for getting workdone. (eg: Taking appropriate permits/ permissions with government)

Planning Phase: In this phase, the project team should will develop a project schedule for coordinating the activites of the design,procurement and construction teams. In the meanwhile project estimation team also develop a detailed budget report. now the designing team will develop detailed drawings for use by procurement team. the procurement team used the drawings to begin ordering equipment and materials for the execution team. Develop labor projections, redefine the construction schedule and set up the construction site. Although planning will continue till the project lasts.

Implementation & monitoring phase: in this phase the work will be done to meet the requirements of the scope of work. During this phase the project team accomplished the work defined in the plan made adjustments.Equipment and materials were delivered to the site, labor was hired and trained, a construction site was built and all the construction activites from the arrival of the first dozer to the installation of the final light switch were accomplished. During construction if the project schedule is lagging then the planning department will monitor the activites and reschedule them to complete the project in stipulated time.

Closure phase: Make sure every activity should be completed before this phase if anywork remains complete them and final reports will be prepared.
