A2) Calculate the amount of money above (in cents) if x=7 and y = 4. Amount: cents

If there are X quarters and Y pennies

and (1 penny = 1 cent )

A1) 1 quater= 25 cents

Therefore X quarters = 25X cents

Y pennies= Y cents

Therefore total amount of money in cents = 25X+Y

A2) X=7, Y=4

Total amount of money in cents = 25X+Y= 25(7)+4=179 cents
