Solution
18000 years ago virginia was not glaciated. during ice age also virginia had vegetation and was heavily forested. during this ime the place had higher percentage of spruce trees and fir trees. the studies have found the presence of oak and hickery also. due to the sand blow outs pine wooodland was also found. in short we can say it was a very diverse forest till last glacial maximum and was indeed different from what we see today.
hence we can say that the coastal virginia was terrestrial upland wvwn during the last ice age and gives the evidence of various vegatation trees during that time including the grasslands.
