Use the quadratic formula to solve the equation 5p 4p2 1S

Use the quadratic formula to solve the equation. 5p + 4p^2 = - 1

Solution

We have 5p+4p2 = -1 or, 4p2 +5p+1 = 0. On using the quadratic formula, we have p = [ -5±(52-4*4*1)]/2*4 or, p = [ -5±(25-16)]/8 = [-5±9]/8 = (-5±3)/8. Thus, either p = -8/8 = -1, or, p = -2/8 = -1/4. The answer is p = -1, -1/4.

 Use the quadratic formula to solve the equation. 5p + 4p^2 = - 1SolutionWe have 5p+4p2 = -1 or, 4p2 +5p+1 = 0. On using the quadratic formula, we have p = [ -5
