multiplying both sides by ( 1 + e^-x )

50 = 4 ( 1 + e^-x)

50 = 4 + 4 e^ -x

subtracting both sides by 4

46 = 4 e^-x

46 / 4 = e^-x

taking natural log on both sides

ln ( 46 / 4) = -x

x = -2.442
