2-octanone: This compound is an unsymmetrical ketone and hence contains pronounced carbonyl stretching around 1717.4cm^-1 with such peak absent in symmetrical ketones. The aliphatic C-H stretching is above 3000cm^-1 while the methyl C-H bend is at 1360 and methylene C-H bend is at 1412. Other peaks at less than 1000cm^-1 are due to miscellaneous C-C bendings.

2-butanol: Similar to 2-octanone, here the methyenel C-H bend appears at 1458.3cm^-1 as it is strong while 1374.6cm^-1 peak corresponds to the methyl C-H bend. The peak at 1109.4cm^-1 giving a strong absorption corresponds to the C-O stretching while the O-H stretching appears at 3346.2cm^-1. Other peak at 2967.2cm^-1 can correspond to the alkyl C-H stretching but this is ambigous can be either of the two close peaks around 2900cm^-1 or even both of them.
