Solution

The major decision that I had taken in the past 5 years is to decide whether I continue my career as a Journal Manager in a reputed company or get married and relocate to a different state. If I want to continue my career then I need to sacrifice the marriage as the groom was in a different state. If I want to get married and relocate to a different state, then I need to quit my job which I loved and passionate about it. Since marriage is very important in one’s life, I had to quit the job and relocate to a different state. Though it is 3 years since my marriage, I still love the job I was doing and long to go for it if the company comes to my state where I am residing.

It took almost a month to decide on the marriage as I was quitting the job I was most passionate about.

There is nothing like biases but factors like age, kids, settling down in family and then restarting career after I get a family influenced the decision to get married.

The outcome of the decision is that the groom’s family was happy that I took the right decision so that the focus is on family now rather than a career woman.

No, the outcome was not different from my expectations since I anticipated that both the bride’s family and the groom’s family would be happy if I leave the job and get relocated to a different state to start off with my family life.

What was unknown to you at the time of making the decision that impacted to outcome?

I thought of restarting my career after a year of my marriage. Unfortunately, the state where I relocated had job opportunities for IT sector and very limited or even rare I would say for non-IT sector which was my streamline. I was unable to find any company which can use my skills and experience pertaining to the publishing industry.

With hindsight, would you have made the decision differently? Why didn\'t you?

No, I would not have made a decision differently, because my priority was to settle down in my personal life and later start off with my career. Though I did not find any job that I like, I am now content with my family and kids.
