Listening is very important for managers and executives. The duty and responsibilities of the managers and executives are to make strategy. More listening facilitates them to go into the problem domain and help to figure out the best solution. Hence they are able to formulate good set of strategies and policies.
Also it is said that a good listener can be a good speaker. So managers and executives listen carefully so that they can speak brilliantly.
Listening gives the managers and executives wide variety of thoughts, plans, ideas and they can use them as per their understandings.
Also when managers and executives listen then the employees think that they are also participating in the business strategy formulation and feel valued.
These were some reasons for same.
First let us understand the meaning of stereotypes. It means assumption about coworker because of his/her affiliation with a group or because of race, gender, sex, religion, caste etc.
For an example let us suppose you co worker is affiliated with a political party then you may think that you should not talk to him because he will be aggressive, and it will be an unhealthy relation with him.
This happens majorly on a particular community (I will not quote name). Co-workers think that being that particular community he/she will might be associated with any particular terror group.
This is harmful because it ruins the coordination amo0ng the team members. The environment of the organization gets ruined. You can think from the above example.
There are some positive effects as well. For an example you think that some particular group of people are very smart, intelligent and friendship can be beneficial then you attaché with them. This is an example of positive stereotype. So work culture gets improved.
