1 When a 500 mL sample of vinegar is titrated 445 mL of 0100

1.    When a 5.00 mL sample of vinegar is titrated, 44.5 mL of 0.100 M NaOH solution is required to reach the end point. What is the concentration of vinegar in moles per liter of solution (molarity, M)?

Solution

HAc + NaOH ==> NaAc + H2O
mols NaOH = M x L = 0.0445x0.1=0.00445
mols HAc = mols NaOH (look a the coefficients in the equation).
Then mol/L soln = 0.00445/0.005=0.89 mol/L
