PLEASE SHOW ME STEP BY STEP AS CLEAR AND SIMPLE AS CAN BE PLEASE!!!!!!!
James Bond’s mass is 84 Kg The Bond Girl is 48Kg The Dirt Bike’s mass is 113.6 Kg The tires on the dirt bike are 0.6m in diameter With Bond and the girl on the dirt bike it can reach a top speed of 111 KpH The coefficient of static friction between the bike and the road is 98.01 The coefficient of kinetic friction between the bike and the road is 7.83 There are 4 bad guys the car each with a mass of 84 Kg The car is 2.1 m wide and has a mass of 681 Kg The coefficient of static friction between the car and the road is 98.01 The coefficient of kinetic friction between the car and the road is 7.83 With the 4 bad guys in the car it can reach a top speed of 120 kph. Each lane of the road is 3m wide (so the road is a total of 6m wide) PLEASE SHOW ME STEP by STEP in simple neat and clear form so I can fully grasp this to study for a upcoming quiz
1.) How fast can the dirt bike go around a 90° curve without losing traction?
2.) As they pull out of the curve, and the bad guys start to catch up, the woman pulls a knife and tries to stab Bond. During the fight he knocks her off the bike and leaves the road heading for a ravine that is 15m across. His path is along level ground and he is traveling at maximum speed. The side of the ravine he starts from is higher than the side upon which he just barely lands safely. If we ignore air resistance, what is the height difference in the sides of the ravine?
3.) If the car load of bag guys follow can they also survive the jump across the ravine? (prove your answer)
Solution
when two bodies slip over each other the friction is called kinetic friction and when two bodies do not slip over each other the force of friction is is called static friction. When two bodies in contact move with frespect to each other, rubbing the surface in contact, the friction between them is kinetic friction. The relative slipping is opposed by the friction.
The magnitude of kinetic force is
Where is the coeffifient of kinetic friction and is the normal force.
The static frictional force is given by
Where is the coefficient of static friction.
1) At the 90\' turn on 3m wide lane the bike moves in a circle of radius equal to the width of the lane. The centripetal force acting on the bike at the turn is
which should be balanced by the static friction to avoide the slipping of the bike on turn.
Thus
Where M is the total mass on bike including the mass of bike, and v is the maximum velocity on the turn.
Where M is the total mass on bike including the mass of bike, and v is the maximum velocity on the turn.
Here M=84+48+113.6=245.6 kg
Here we have Hence = 98.01X 9.8 m/per sec square. which gives
maximum value of the speed of bike as v= 53.68 meterper sec.
Other parts now can be solved in straight forward manner
