Consider the experience of one of the following individuals:
Will Smith, an African American actor
America Ferrara, a Honduran American actor
Bernie Sanders, the first Jewish politician to win a primary in a run for president of the United States
Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X and a Muslim American
Each has transcended minority labels and gained a level of power normally associated with being a member of the majority. In your post, answer the following questions:
What do you think these individuals, or any member of a minority group, had to do to transcend their minority group label? In other words, how did they overcome the inequities and barriers associated with being labeled as belonging to a minority group?
In your opinion, if a member of a minority group overcomes the inequities and barriers associated with a minority group membership, does the minority label still retain power? In other words, will that individual be treated differently than other members of the same minority group? Why or why not?
Solution
The world as a whole is one entity.
Human race which is been in existance on the earth has made up minority groups for their own personal gain and manifestation
Every individual is given the same amount of potential by birth. It is during his stay in earth that races and other nuances causes disruptions and transfer of power
A hardworking and versatile thinking person is said to motivate and be successful in life despite his color or race
I would like to point out on Bernie Sanders who created a movement during the Democratic Primaries.
People loved him. Youngsters could relate to a 80 year old man who was their voice. Who wanted to turn down the system but was never given a chance
Bernie\'s rallies had huge crowds . His message echoed and people wanted a change .
It was unfortunate findings that were found in the wikileaks that the DNC chairman tried to rig the elections and use his minority race against him.
If it werent for the revelations through the WIKILIEAKS people would never had a chance to know
People never bother about others ethnicity.
People like good people. We do not try to accost to others asking them about their race, or religion.
If we have no enemies it is very clear that we have never stood up for anything good for once in our lives.
Thus people try to decieve and play with human emotions to turn one against another to get what they want.
Thus we should keep doing good think of the big picture minorities and race are just a fraction trying to discriminate us against one another.
