f. How did Snow narrow his research to the “broad street” pump as the source of contamination?
g. What specifically was determined to be the cause of the cholera outbreak?
h. What are similarities and differences in the way a public health professional would follow a disease outbreak in the 21st. century compared to the way Snow followed cholera?
Solution
f. John Snow used geographhical grids in order to document and chart down deaths that were being caused by cholera outbreaks. He almost always found that the people who contracted cholera used the water from teh Broad Street pump one way or the other. hence, he started beleiving that the source of contamination was the Broad Street Pump.
g) Once a motehr washed her baby\'s diapers in the water and threw it into a nearby leaky cesspool, which finally caused the contamination and hence the disease.
