Let x pounds of cornmeal and y pounds of soybean

So, x+y = 280 -----(1)

Soybean meal is 14% protein; Cornmeal is 7% protein and 280lb mixture that is 12% protein

0.14x +0.07y = 0.12*280

0.14x +0.07y = 33.6 -----(2)

we have two equations , solve to get value of x and y

x = 200lb ; y = 80 lb

So, Cornmeal = 200lb

Soybean = 80lb
