Can anyone help me solve this pre-calculus problem?

Find the equation of the line (in slope intercept form) passing through the point (5,3)and parallel to the line passing through (2,2) and (2,2).

Thank you so much, Kameron

Solution

The slope intercept form of a line is represented by the form y=mx+c where m is the slope of the line, c is the constant.

Slope of the line passing through (-2,2) and (2,2) is m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)= 0 since this line is parallel to the line passing through (5,-3) thus their slope will be the same.

Thus the equation is y-y1=m (x-x1)

-> y-(-3)= 0 (x- 5)

Y=-3
