Solution

a) Number of units produced in 60 Mins = 58

so, Number of units produced in 81 Minutes of machine running = (58/60)*81 = 78.3

Factoring in Service time & waiting time, net working time of machine = running time+service time+waiting time = 81+27+0 {Waiting time is not given in question, so assumed 0} = 108 minutes.

Thus, after factoring in waiting time & service time, we have:

In 108 Minutes, Units produced = 58

Therefore, In 60 Minutes, Units produced = (58/108)*60= 32.22 ~ 32 Units

Thus, average hourly output = 32.22 pieces
