Explain how a \'plane force\' can be applied to a cylindrical member. What does is mean for a geometry to be \'fixed\'? Was anything broken?

Solution

The planar force can be applied in solid works by first selecting the plane of the cylinder and then using the reference geometry and selecting the direction of force application.

Fixed constraint is used to define a fixed support or fixed plane. Here, first the corresponding side or plane is selected and the fixed option is defined by using constraint tool bar.
