A cylindar tank with a height of 50 meters holds 1000 gallon
A cylindar tank with a height of 50 meters holds 1000 gallons of water when filled. How many gallons are in the tank when the depth of the water is 20 meters?
Solution
when height of cylindrical tank is 50 metres it can hold 1000 gallons of water
lets say there are x gallons when depth of water is 20 metres
writing the ratio of gallons to height
1000/50 = x / 20
x = 1000*20 / 50
x = 400
therefore, it has 400 gallons of water
