So, x^2 + 49/4 -49/4 -7x + 12 =0

(x -7/2)^2 -49/4 +12 =0

(x - 7/2)^2 -1/4 =0

(x - 7/2)^2 = 1/4

(x -7/2) = sqrt(1/4)

(x-7/2 ) = +/- 1/2

x = 7/2 +1/2 = 4
