find the zeros of the function and state the multiplicities

find the zeros of the function and state the multiplicities

p(×)=3× (×+2)*3(×+4)

Solution

P(x) = 3x*(x+2)*3*(x+4)

function is zero at:

x = 0

x+2 = 0 , x = -2

x+4 = 0, x = -4

function have zeros at x = 0, -2, & -4

multiplicities of zero = 1

multiplicities of (-2) = 1

multiplicities of (-4) = 1

multiplicities of function = 1+1+1 = 3

find the zeros of the function and state the multiplicities p(×)=3× (×+2)*3(×+4)SolutionP(x) = 3x*(x+2)*3*(x+4) function is zero at: x = 0 x+2 = 0 , x = -2 x+4
