Target in Canada miserably failed and filed bankruptcy because of  overly ambitious launch schedule which made them huge investment at the initial stage and they didnt do any proper market study about the demand of an inexperienced leadership team expected to deal with the biggest crisis in the firm’s history. They started with a bulk of the 124 stores at the initial phase across different regions of Canada , and it was well clear the launch had gone seriously awry. Consumers got frustrated because of empty shelves and they didnt get the required shopping experience from such a big brand in their country. The biggest challenge for Target at the entry phase was in acquiring enough real estate to make the facilities. They have given tight deadlines for development of distribution centres and staffs were went crazy by overload of work. Technology part also Target hasn\'t do proper reearch and they tried to extend their existing technology in the new country and it also miserably failed because it lacks localisation and employees were not properly trained. Target didnt focus on customer requirement and they havent given focus for customisation at Canada level. They havent done any proper market benchmarking or analysis where Canadians retail business is totally different from that of Target\'s normal operations. They mostly beleive in small retail outlets and cluster os departmental stores for easy shopping like Loblaw company,empire company ltd. etc.
