a How many milliliters of a 0210 M NaOH solution are needed

a) How many milliliters of a 0.210 M NaOH solution are needed to neutralize 25.0 ml of 0.125 M H2SO4(aq)? b) A 15.45 ml volume of 0.1327 M KMnO4(aq) is needed to oxidize 25.00 ml of a FeSO4(aq) in an acidic medium. What is molarity of the FeSO4(aq) given the following balanced net ionic equation: 5 Fe2+(aq) + MnO4-(aq) + 8H+(aq)

Solution

a) 2NaOH+ H2SO4---> Na2SO4 + H2O

SO balancing the number of moles,

2*25*0.125=x*0.21

or x=29.76 ml.

b)5 Fe2+(aq) + MnO4-(aq) + 8H+(aq)
