In Normal condition the body response against the infection by activating its immune system. Sometime bacteria carry the similar property of proteins as similiar proteins present inside the host system. In that case the body immune system unable to differentiate bacterial protein and its own protein so immune system attack on its own proteins which cause the organ dysfunction. This lack of ability to identify and differentiate the foreign particles is known as severe inflammatory response syndrome. If this is because of bacteria then it will called as bacterial sepsis. In this event the C5a, complement anaphylatoxin produced after activation of complement system. This factor releases the pro-inflammatory mediators (macrophages, HMGB1). HMGB1 binds with toll-like receptor and increase the rate of pro-inflammatory mediator release.
