Evidence for evolution can be obtained by:

1) Comparing Genetics: Proteins in all organisms are composed of the same set of 20 amino acids. So, by studying the gene sequence that codes for these aminoacids,we can trace evolutionary past at the molecular level.

Eg: The DNA in human being that codes for a specific aminoacid, codes for the same amino acid in any other organism. Therefore,at the basic molecular level, comparing DNA sequences provides evolutionary evidence.

2) Observing and studying natural selection also provides evolutionary evidence.

Eg: Development of resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a result of evolution.
