Some 47 million Americans entirely lack health insurance, dozens of millions of others are underinsured, and still others face non-financial barriers to access. Who is more likely to lack coverage? Is access to health care a right? Are uninsured people served adequately? How can we correct this problem?

According to estimate, 11.5 % population of America is uninsured. Generally, low income group people come under this category. Hence, high premium and low income are attributable to the low percentage of insurance coverage. It has been seen that most of left out people are either poor or undocumented migrants. Further, these people are more susceptible to the illness. Furthermore, they are likely to spend more during the illness. Private hospitals tend to charge exorbitantly and exploit poor patients. Hence, access to health care should be right, it would not only help to realize the objective of true democracy but also reduce the overall spending on health care due to fall in premium rate and illness. Uninsured people are not served adequately. Government must provide them subsidies to buy insurance policies. It would help to reduce the overall spending on health care by lowering insurance premium.
