Using the Internet, find an example of major company that is currently facing problems (or has faced problems in the last 12 months) in one or more markets around the world due to one or more of its corporate policies (privacy, intellectual property, patents, etc.). Solution

The discussion is about the data privacy problems faced by Facebook in Europe wherein data security watchdogs across countries of France, Belgium, and Netherlands etc. have instituted investigations into matter of breach of personal privacy by Facebook and unethical sharing of user data by Facebook with advertisers without user’s consent. In fact the French watchdog has levied a fine of € 150,000 on Facebook and investigations by other agencies are continuing.

Facebook does not face such investigations in United States or in any Asian countries by any regulatory agency and the European actions seems to be really stern and in line with the controversy surrounding the sharing of user data such as location, personal details, social media behavior and shopping preferences with retailers for commercial purpose.
