Determine the value of h such that the following system has infinitely many solutions. -6y + 9y = 6 -2x + 3y = h Solution h =
Solution
Given : - 6x + 9y = 6 ---------(1)
- 2x + 3y = h --------(2)
for the above system to have infinite solution the 2 equations must be the same
divide equation (1) by \'3\'
we get - 2 x +3y = 2 comparing the RHS with equation (2)
we get \'h\'= 2
if \'h\' =2 both the equations represent are same equal to
-2x +3y =2 which gives infinite numbers of solution
all the points on the straight line -2x+3y =2 are the solution of the system
