Distinguish between recombinant and non-recombinant DNA.

Solution

Recombinant DNA refers to a DNA molecule which has been created by combining DNA from different sources. Such DNA does not exist in nature. For example, if you take any gene from human and combine it with bacterial DNA, it will be a recombinant DNA derived partly from Human DNA and partly from bacterial DNA. The Human-bacteria recombinant DNA when inserted in bacteria can express the human protien in Bacteria.

In contrast Non-recombinant DNA refers to naturally occuring DNA. The DNA which naturally exists in cells of the Human body and the DNA which naturally exists inside a bacteria will be examples of non-recombinant DNA
