The classical perspective of management had 2 branches:
1) Scientific Management: It is concerned with improving efficiency and prouctivity of work methods for individual workers.
2) Administrative Management: It was focused on the organizational structure formation and arragement for better operations.
Both the branches of the management paid less attention to the role of worker.
The behavioral perspective of management
It is characterized by group or individual behavior.It emerged as a result of hawthorne studies.The importance and potential of behavioral processes in an organisation was recognized by Human relations movement but in doing so thy made simplistic assumptions about those processes.
Contemporary managers are more interested in organizational behavior which is the realistic outgrowth of the behavioral prespective.
The Quantitative perspective of management also has 2 major branches:
1) Management Science
2) Operations management
These 2 branches applies quantitative techniques to decision making and problem solving.
Use of these technologies have led to increase in the use of personal computers and integrated information networks.
These 2 networks are also of importance to comtemporary managers.
