12 If sinx34 and z is an angle in Quadrant IV find the value

12. If sin(x)-3/4 and z is an angle in Quadrant IV, find the value of tan(z). 13. State the formula for sin(a + b) and use it to show sin(a + /2) = cos(a). he value of tan(x) 2T 9 - r2 14. Draw the graph of f(x)-9-x2. Indicate asymptotes. r) = graph of F(x) = 6- 2, forz1 2x-6, for x > 1

Solution

12) sin x = -3/4

perpendicular = 3

hypotenuse = 4

base = sqrt ( 4^2 - 3^2 ) = sqrt 7

tan x = - 3 / sqrt 7

or - 3 sqrt 7 / 7

13) sin (a + b) = sin a cos b + cos a sin b

sin ( a + pi/2 ) = sin a cos pi/2 + cos a sin pi/2

cos pi/2 = 0 , sin pi/2 = 1

sin (a + pi/2 ) = sin a (0) + cos a (1) = cos a

 12. If sin(x)-3/4 and z is an angle in Quadrant IV, find the value of tan(z). 13. State the formula for sin(a + b) and use it to show sin(a + /2) = cos(a). he
