Find the equivalent resistance of the following circuit find

Find the equivalent resistance of the following circuit. find the potential difference and the current through each of the elements.

Solution

a) since resistors 1,2 and 4 are in series and there combination is in parallel combination so

Equivalent resisstance of the circuit, Re = ((2+2+3)*3)/  ((2+2+3)+3) = 2.1 ohm

b) R124 = 2+2+3 = 7 ohm and R1243 = Re= 2.1 ohm

I124 = V/R124 = 31/7 = 4.42 A

I1 = I2= I4 = 4.42 A

V1 = I1R1 = 4.42*3 =13.26 V

V2 = I2R2 = 4.42*2 = 8.84 V

V4 = I4R4 = 4.42*2 = 8.84 V

V3 = 31 V

I3 = V3/R3 = 31/3 = 10.3 A

 Find the equivalent resistance of the following circuit. find the potential difference and the current through each of the elements. Solutiona) since resistors
