When converting a double integral from rectangular coordinates to polar coordinates,an additional fator of r must be included. Explain Why.

Solution

In rectangular co-ordinates (x,y) are needed to denote a point in two dimension plane. So, in polar co-ordinates also we need two parameters to denote a point:-
1) distance from the origin (r)
2) angle from the center ()

we need r in polar co-ordinate system

When converting a double integral from rectangular coordinates to polar coordinates,an additional fator of r must be included. Explain Why.SolutionIn rectangula
