What is the difference between social responsibility and man
Solution
ans....
Though the terms \"ethics\" and \"social responsibility\" are often used interchangeably in business, the media and everyday life, the two terms mean two very different things that. For some individuals, the use of the terms interchangeably may be justified and even correct. For the general population and for the sake of comprehension, however, the terms must be identified separately
 Ethics
The online dictionary at Dictionary.com defines ethics as the \"branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.\" Ethics, therefore, is a broad subject, encompassing all different sets of moral guidelines. This includes everything from Christian ethics to the ethics of a pacifist to the ethics of a serial killer. The term ethics does not imply a way to make decisions or live a life, it merely gives a name to the choices that are made.
 Social Responsibility
Social responsibility is defined as a mode of ethics that implores us to act in a way \"to benefit society.\" Social responsibility, then, is a subcategory of ethics that dictates how we should make decisions and/or live our lives. Those who adhere to the principles of social responsibility make decisions based on the principle that the best decision is the one that will do the most for society at large, even if that means sacrificing their own personal wants and/or needs.
 Distinctions:
So, in effect, Business Ethics is a broad concept which encompasses business social responsibility, but not the other way around. Business Social responsibility is the narrower concept that only discusses the responsibility or obligations of a business to it\'s society.
Business ethics is more subjective than business social responsibility.
Business ethics is directed at everything and everyone the business organisation is involved with, wheras business social responsibility is directed at society as a whole.
Business ethics concerns directly with the organisation\'s business decisions, whereas business social responsibility concerns with society which doesn\'t have direct involvment in the business of the orgainisation.
