Ethical and unethical conduct can be subjective, depending on the cultural norms and practices, but to determine what is ethical, we need to see if the decision or the action taken is causing any harm to any entity, if our decision is not harming anyone then it is ethical. To promote a client’s events, the ultimate consideration lies in the fact that, is promoting this event good for the company or not. Basically, if I gain personally through promoting this event, then there will be a conflict of interest on my part which will be unethical. Hence, to make this decision, I would need to check with my company if promoting this event on a personal level is acceptable or should it be denied or taken on the company level. Also, the event should not in any way support or promote any form of unethical or illegal actions/activities/products or services.
