Explain the importance of implementing lean manufacturing De
Solution
1. Lean manufacturing is a systematic approach to reduce and eleiminate waste in a manufacturing company or organization. This concept originated from Toyota Production systems, unarguably the most succesful automotive company. Lean manufacturing is bulit around the concept of \"minimizing or removing non-value work activity from the manufacturing process\". The main benefits are: streamlines the company\'s processes, removes waste from seven categores (Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over-processing, Overproduction, and Defects), increases team committment, enables continuous improvement in increasing efficiency.
At home, I have starte storing all my household products in a close space, preferably in a cabinet or an almirah.
2. Despite its benefits, Lean manufacturing is risky. It requires the total committment and participation of every personnel in an organization. It requires significant and pervasive changes through most organizations with constant reinforcement of beahvorial adjustments. When these demands are not met, lean manufacturing fails. Failure can also be managerial, or philisophical.
