1. The topic assumes significance given the current geo-political developments in the Middle East and the ramifications that it can have on the global geo-political scenario. The region has lately witnessed a series of diplomatic disputes. To say that these disputes have been fiery would be an understatement. There is a power play that is happening between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Relationships between Iran, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon is deteriorating. Other people should care as the prevailing tensions could escalate into aggressive actions and even lead to blatant act of military aggression. The world cannot afford now a fully escalated war in the region as it will disturb the fabric of modern society in which the world is deemed to be flat and all countries are dependent on each other for political support and trade. Other people do care and countries like USA and organizations like UN are trying their best to resolve the situation in Middle East.

2. The topic is problematic due to the fact that different countries have different allies and this may lead to escalated tension in the regional power play process. It is also problematic because the nature of the tension is varied and ranges from Islamic extremism to political turnover. Yes there is more than one reasonable answer to the problem and people tend to disagree about it political situations and human right situations differ from one country to another.

3. The audience should care about this topic as they are part of the globe and so should be aware of the fact that any possible scenario of war will not only disturb the political fabric of the world but can also put the world economy in the dark lanes of recession again. If a full scale war breaks out oil prices will shoot up significantly, inflation will come into play and recession will eat up jobs and put a brake on growth.

4. The questions that should be asked are what other nations and organizations should do to control the tension in Middle East and to ensure stability in future going forward. Policies and regulations will have to be questioned and going forward efforts and steps will have to be devised and implemented to ensure that chaos is completely eliminated from the region.
