US government debt is growing year by year. Present US debt is close to the $ 21 Trillion. Which is 106 % of US GDP. Federal government expenditure on defense and social securities is very high which has inflated overall debt of US government. Further, debt increases significantly during the economic crisis when government made significant increase in social securities and bailout packages.

Presently, Trump government has announced reduction in corporate and income taxes which would further increase debt of government. US total debt is 550 % of annual revenue receipts of government

To sum up, US must reduce its debt level in near future. Tax reductions in corporate tax and income tax would inflation debt further if expenditure on social securities is not reduced. These are not good signs for US economy. Government could not gather sufficient resources if any crisis hit US economy in near future. Hence, government must control its debt level.
