Solution

TOMS Shoes is a profit based organisation which tries to do social responsibility not as a policy but has embeded the same in its business model. The organisation claims that for every shoe purchased a pair of shoe will be donated to the children without shoes in many underdeveloped and developing countries. it is a for profit organisation as the cost of shoe which is donated is included in the cost of TOMS shoe so the company makes profit and does a kind deed also to the people who are in need. The same one for one model was embeded in may products like eyewear, books etc all of which went to the needful.

In my opinion giving is not the only drive force behind TOMS shoes as it is a profit oriented firm with CSR in the core business model. The company wishes to earn as well as help children at the same time . The company does not only state that it will give or as a stunt but in actuallity the shoes are being able to reach and children are getting benefitted by the same. Having basic necessities is the right of every individual on earth be it from any country which the company is trying to fulfil one product at a time. in doing so the company is not only giving but also earning profits. There is no harm in doing so. but somewhere there have been critics stating that giving necessities can make people dependent and that we are missing the main point that providing job is the main thing rather than donating. to which i completley agree to. According to me TOMS shoes can employ people in the 3rd world countries in making their shoes as well as shoes which are being donated. this will create job opportunities for people and help children as well. so TOMS shoes driving force is not only giving but earning profit as well as they go hand in hand with each other.
