In the book Pour Your Heart Into It, in chapter 11, Schulz talks about how businesses fail because leaders cannot execute. Perhaps this is because they are not aware of their own strengths or weaknesses. What are three strengths/skills you would have to offer in a service-learning activity?

Solution

The three strengths I can offer in a service learning industry include interpersonal personal skills, problem solving skill and team leading skill. The service learning activity is mainly about involving in social and community activities which help the students to practice what they have learned in the class rooms. Engaging in social activities as a group will help us to enhance our interpersonal skills. Interpersonal skills are essential to ensure good interaction with the team members and leaders should be good in interpersonal skills. My interpersonal skills will contribute to the service learning activity to have better interaction with the team members and perform the activities in a better way. My problem solving skills will help to find solutions to the problems that may arise and I can utilize the classroom learning I have received to make better decisions. The leaders should be good problem solvers and the team members would respect and follow the leaders who are better decision makers. Team leading skills will help me to guide the team and ensure the activities are getting completed within the stipulated time successfully. The success of the activities depends on the coordination and collaboration between the team members and my team leading skills would essentially contribute to ensure these factors.
