In the article Three Mile Island and the Billion Dollar Memo
Solution
What part did the memo play in the accident at Three Mile Island.
The memo provided information from Mr. Dunn about nuclear plant safety procedures, this was sent because a year and half before the accident of Three Mile Island there was an accident at an Ohio nuclear plant and Mr. Dunn wanted to avoid this to happen again
How is the original memo problematic?
First of all, it wasn’t sent to the correct audience, and was written in such a way as to preclude action because it didn’t have too much specification and it lack the sense of urgency.
What do you think of the suggested revision?
The revision was much more specific, it had basically the same information as the first one but with more detail and sent to the correct audience.
How does it solve the problem (or not)?
It didn’t actually solve the problem because the accident already happened, but it is a reminder that in the future this kind of accidents can be prevented if this kind of information is sent.
