Walking a transect line that was 20 chains long, I saw a total of 5 rabbits within 20 feet. Assuming that I could see all rabbits within 20 feet on either side, what is the rabbit density (number per acre)?

1 Acre = 43 560 Square Feet

therefore

20 feet = 0.000459137 acre

rabbit density per acre i.e number of rabbit per acre is

total rabbit / total acre

=>20/0.000459137

=>43506.6

=> approx 43507 rabbits/per acre
