Solution

width = 2*length - 6

Area = 172

w*l = 172 ; (2l -6)*l = 172

2l^2 - 6l - 172 =0

l^2 - 3l - 86 =0

l = 10.89 , - 7.89 ( neglect -ve)

l = 10.89 ; w = 15.78

diagonal = sqrt( l^2 + w^2) = sqrt(10.89^2 + 15.78^2) = 19.17

 The width of a rectangle is 6 less than twice its length. If the area of the rectangle is 172 cm2 whatis the length of the diagonal? The length of the diagonal
