pare the suitabilty of the fill to support the trucks after
Solution
The value of clay subgrade should have been 4000 psf. Considering this value as peak strength at 15 mm strain, we can say that either the loading on-highway dump trucks should be low to cause lesser damage to subgrade or if loading is more value then it is required to repair the road after the construction project is over. Also there is no proper gradation done for subgrade course, and no subbase, base layers are there though 10 cm layer of asphalt aggregate is used, which is not thick enough to distribute the heavy truck load during construction. The Surface layer should have been 15 cm thick if base, subbase and strong subgrade would have been used, otherwise 20 to 25 cm( 8 to 10 inches) thick surface should have been there. Farmer has given correct information and his road should be repaired significantly after use, otherwise loading should be lower than normal.(calculation need some more data and information)
