As a manager (of anything you choose) why is it important to eliminate/minimize wait times? How does increased wait times waste money or cost you business? How can you determine steps in your business\'s process that are wasteful?

It is important to reduce the customer waiting time for influencing the experience of the customers. It is important for providing an experience for the customers which won\'t ruin their interest in the brand or product offering. It is necessary to manage the efficiency of waiting time appropriately.
When the customers are made to wait a lot then they might lose interest in the product or brand. It would decrease the perceived value of the purchase and put loyalty to risk. It is important to utilize the historical sales data and analyze how the staffing needs to advance times effectively. It will also be effective to design a unique atmosphere for establishing and promoting a system with alternatives to keep the customers entertained.
There are types of wastes for the organization that add no value. This includes over processing wherein there is more value added to a process which is not necessarily used. Another one is needless motion of searching and gathering. Unnecessary daily transportation. Waiting time, overproduction and process that does not match to the required standards, creativity of employees which is not used. There are processes for reducing the waste and this includes planning. The planning helps for identifying the necessary change and defining the steps. This will help for predicting results. Checking the facts and examining the trial results, verifying if the plan is ready to be implemented and finally implementation. It should be able to take into account various systems for management of queues in an effective manner and adapting the payment system for them accordingly.
When the costs generated by waiting time is reduced then it saves money and there is no need to decrease inventory.
