The students in Ms. Caven\'s class have a large poster showing a million dots. Now, the students would really like to see a billion of something. First method:

we know that 1 billion = 1000 million

so that means to show a billion we need to join side by side about a thousand similar charts that contains 1 million dots.

This meathod is not easible as it is not easy to get enough space to join a thousand such charts side by side.

Joining charts side by side will take too much space so to solve this problem we can put charts one over other and get a box like structure. There it will be easy to visualize 1 billion dots in 3 dimenional space. Yes method is easible as collecting 1000 such charts may take some time but there will be no problem with space.
