The Human resource mangers have the vital roles in eliminating the discrimination against the employees. There may be hundreds of people with different culture, background, religion, caste, race etc. Each one has different opinion, thinking, belief and maintains this diversification in a organization that will meet the objective of the company is very important. There are many aspects in which the discrimination may take place like, hiring, recruiting, promotion, performance management, compensation etc.

The Human Resource manager creates organizational policies to eliminate discriminations as well as apply the government rules and regulations.

Here are some laws-

Civil Rights Act 1964: 7th title of Civil Right Act 1964 prevents the employer to do any type of discrimination against the employees. The employers cannot refuse any prospect candidate on behalf of color, sex, religion, nation, caste, race etc. Although the employer has the right to refuse for a job if the candidate did not match with the desired criteria but on behalf of some qualities which are not related to work will come under discrimination. Employer cannot refuse on behalf of those qualities.

Wage Laws- The Fair Labor standards Act gives the right the employees to get a fixed minimum age. The employer cannot offer lower wage than decoded by the government. It prevents the wage discrimination. There are some countries where wages are lower than USA but if those employees come in USA and work they will get minimum wage decided by US government. These criteria have to be followed by HR people.

Federal Family Medical Leave- This is another law giving the right to the citizen that they have the right to get 12 weeks of unpaid leaves to take care their family member’s health if someone is ill. The company cannot fire an employee who is asking for this holiday as it is his right.

There are other laws as well like US labor law, Women\'s rights, Equal Pay Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act etc that help in eliminating discrimination.
