A model rocket is launched with an initial upward velocity of 62/ms . The rocket\'s height h (in meters) after t seconds is given by the following. =h62t5t2 Find all values of t for which the rocket\'s height is 29 meters.

Solution

initial velocity u =62/ms

at time = t ; height h = 29 meters

So by newtons second law

h = ut +1/2gt2

29 = 62t -5t2

So,

t =(62-3264)/10=(31-4 51 )/5= 0.487

t =(62+3264)/10=(31+4 51 )/5= 11.913

A model rocket is launched with an initial upward velocity of 62/ms . The rocket\'s height h (in meters) after t seconds is given by the following. =h62t5t2 Fin
