GAS 2U! DQMOT, BSF IDK when we were under this much pressure to meet a deadline. IMO, we need to drop everything else and get this done. Only then can we get back to DBAU. I know you’re thinking this is 2M2H, and we may have to WAH this WKD. We need this to be done NLT COB Monday. AYDY? UFN, drop regular operations to get this done ASAP. IMHO, this entire project is an entire WOMBAT (KNIM) .02 RX Read (and decipher) the example message above. Post your thoughts on when and how acronyms are acceptable for use in workplace communication.

Good As Shift to you! (Please remove \'f\' from shift and read this word) Don’t quote me On This, But Seriously Folks I Don’t Know when we were under this much pressure to meet a deadline. In My Opinion, we need to drop everything else and get this done Only then can we get back to Doing Business as Usual. I know you’re thinking this is Too Much To Handle, and we may have to Work At Home this Weekend. We need this to be done No Later Than Close Of Business Monday. Are You Done Yet? Undecided For Now, drop regular operations to get this done As Soon As Possible. In My Honest Opinion, this entire project is an entire Waste Of Money, Brains and Time( Know What I Mean).
In my opinion, acronyms could be used to a limited extent. It is not possible for your audience to know every acronym which you have used in your communication. In such scenarios commonly used acronyms like IMHO, BRB are acceptable and the usage of acronyms like GAS should be totally avoided as a majority of people (including me) struggle with understanding the real meaning behind the acronym. It is true that acronyms make the work of the writer easy but it should never make the reader’s experience frustrating. There is no hard and fast rule which limits the number of acronyms in a paragraph but common sense has it, that a paragraph is considered to be well written when it conveys the meaning clearly without the usage of words which make the reader search for the full form of acronyms from various resources. The whole experience of the reader goes wasted if the message is filled with non-relatable acronyms. Therefore, I feel the usage of acronyms is okay as long as the experience of understanding the thoughts of the writer does not become a cumbersome one.
