I would like to change my major from business management to finance and accounting management as I understood the importance of learning finance for a better career. The main factors behind my intention to change major are the importance of finance management in organizations, my interest in learning finance over business management and the rewarding career offered by finance management field.

I can find while analyzing my career opportunities that almost all careers in management need understanding on finance management to become successful. Managers may fail in their role if they do not have adequate knowledge over finance and accounting management. Business managers definitely require knowledge in finance management and the decisions are to be made after analyzing all the financial implications. Most of the organizational goals are related to finance and I believe that is the reason finance and accounting managers are paid heavily. My aim is to reach the top level management position for which finance management is very much essential. After changing my major to finance management I would get required knowledge and training on budgeting and cash flow analysis which adds to the main functions of senior level management.

Not only the bright future I expect in finance but also my previous academic experience is also related to finance and accounting. I have studied finance and accounting in my lower classes and I have secure very high marks in the same. But I thought of learning a new subject while taking business management and took Business Management as my major. But now I understood that Finance management suits me best and my decision to take Business management was wrong. I have secured poor marks in Business Management in my previous exams and would not like to continue with Business Management as major. Students can perform well when they select the subject of their taste as major and else the education would not lead to a better future. Finance Management requires knowledge in Mathematics and good interpersonal skills and I am very much interested in learning mathematics.

Finance management provides lot of opportunities for career which includes the banks, government agencies and stockholders other than private organizations. I can focus on my career without getting confused as finance management provides clear direction on the path which I need to select. Business management has lot of options in many fields but the options in finance management are limited but with high opportunities. The finance related roles can be handled only by the finance graduates but the business management related jobs can be handled by other graduates also which makes it more attractive. The finance career is much rewarding compared to business management which is also a major factor behind my decision to change the major.
