A boy is flying two kites at the same time He has a 360 ft

A boy is flying two kites at the same time. He has a = 360 ft of line out to one kite and b = 430 ft to the other. He estimates the angle between the two lines to be 30 degree. Approximate the distance between the kites. (Round your answer to the nearest foot.)

Solution

To find the distance between two kites ,we have to use law of cosine. Let the distance between two kites =d ft

d2=3602+4302-2*360*430cos30

d2=314500-309600cos30

d=215ft
