How did the Revolutionary War affect enslaved African Americans? Did it create any openings for freedom or further negotiation with slaveowners? Were enslaved African Americans more likely to favor the American patriot forces or the British? Why?

Revolutionary war helped the enslaved African American to get their freedom. Both sides of the army promised a freedom to these slaves. After the war, these people got freedom and some of them also fled to find their freedom. During the war in 1775, Lord Dumore as governor of Virginia, openly claimed to give freedom to these workers after the completion of the war. To prevent the unrest in other party and they also promised the same to give freedom. Hence, the war helped the enslaved workers to get freedom. Therefore, the revolutionary war created an opening for the freedom.
These slaves were listed in the British army as well as favored the American patriot forces. Here, the salves participated in war from the side of American patriot forces, to get the freedom and take revenge against the British army, while the slaves participated from the side of British army because they were promised to deliver the freedom after the war.
